We ALL Have A Right to Know What’s In Our Food!

I tried really hard to stay away from politics but it appears to be invading every part of our lives – even to the food we eat! The “Right to Know” what we are eating has to be voted on! Can you believe it? I’ve written before about CA Proposition 37 and even though I don’t live in California, I am urging everyone who does to vote YES on CA Prop 37. We DO have a right to know what we eat AND should also be able to choose. This should not even be up for a vote!

What happens with the CA Prop 37 vote on November 6th IS going to affect the rest of us. Following are two links that I hope you will go through. Learn more about the dangers of GMO. “We are what we eat” is very true. Since GMOs have ‘stealthily’ been added to the ingredients (80%) of our food, there has been a consistent rise in disease and it appears the fastest growing part of the population is our children! Why? They are active, eat more and their immune systems can’t handle all the toxins. Cancer, asthma, allergies are all on the rise! Obesity is another growing issue and in part also connected to certain ingredients in our food – there are rises in heart disease and diabetes.

CRPD – Our Special Needs Children and GMO

How is it possible to live two entirely different roles at the same time on the same planet?!? Sometimes they come together just fine and at others, they clash. (I’m not counting all the other hats of wife, mom, etc. here.)

One role is that of a Network Marketing Professional. I have my own home business in the health and wellness field. I figure without health – nothing else matters. Doesn’t matter if you have time or money – without great health, you can’t enjoy them. I’m also into the prevention end of things. Keep the body in good shape and you don’t need to replace parts – that gets really expensive.

The other role is of a concerned American citizen and right now our country really is in crisis on sooooo many fronts. The election we are facing is a critical one. We will either be a free country with our God-given rights – as our forefathers intended – or, we … won’t …

Lately my roles have been clashing a lot. We want to do the best for our families and that includes not only good nutrition, pure water, clean air it also includes having the freedom to do so. We literally have a food fight going on right now and it’s not the fun one across our tables. We want to know what’s in the food we are eating and feeding our families. If you haven’t already done so, learn about the hazards of GMO foods and the herbicides and pesticides you may be unknowingly ingesting.

One Way to Handle Stress: Prayer

Normally I don’t talk about politics or religion here; however, I do talk about stress and how it can be the cause of illness. The chaos that is America today definitely has me stressing – not too sure how it may be affecting you. I haven’t been eating well nor has my sleep been restful. Consequently, my digestive system is messed up and I have IMS – Irritable Mood Syndrome.

We currently have a president who is anti-Christian and says ‘people belong to the government’. He apologizes for America, her traditions and her prosperity. Hello? It is because of our traditions and prosperity that we have been able to help others and it is because of our compassion that we do so.

When he said ‘fundamentally change and transform America’, he wasn’t kidding! When he said ‘America is not a Christian nation’ … was that the moment he laid the groundwork to remove our religious liberty? Our Christian faiths – no matter the denomination – is the foundation, the essence – our conscience, if you will – of who we are and what we stand for. He can take away our conscience?!?

It’s NOT been the ‘hope and change’ that Americans voted for. Instead, more people find themselves out of work. Biden made a remark about ‘putting ya’ll in chains’ in reference to the Republican party. What do you call it when people are out of work and need Food Stamps or other Welfare programs just to survive? I call it enslavement. Isn’t that the same as ‘chains’?

He says “Forward” … I say “Backward” I don’t want and didn’t vote for this guy’s ‘hope and change’. As of the time of this post, there isn’t much time left to do some serious praying and research. What kind of a world do you want for your children and grandchildren? One of enslavement … or one of prosperity?

I vote for prosperity where people have a choice … where people can live according to THEIR religious beliefs … where they can live whatever mission it is that God gave them.

I want God back in our schools. I want our Constitution, Bill of Rights and our Declaration of Independence to be taught in their entirety.

I do not want to be considered a threat or terrorist because I believe in American values and traditions.

I want an American government that is FOR the American people – all off them – not just a select few. A government that will uphold our Constitution and God-Given rights.

I want a government who supports our military men and women. Many are sacrificing their lives for the very freedoms this administration is actively taking away. Families are mourning the lost lives of sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters and grandchildren.

I want to be able to go to a store and buy stuff that is ‘MADE IN AMERICA’.

I want my food labeled so I know that what my family is eating is healthy for them.

It is only through freedom one can live their life to its fullest God-given potential.
Who is ‘man’ to take that away?

PS The picture above is of a statue my mom gave me many years ago. Just as the Crucifix holds deep meaning, so does this. I am a Child of God and so are you. Pray and place your faith in Him. God Bless Israel and God, … Please Bless America … again.

Stress and Health: Politics and Religion

It’s worrisome wondering where is America headed. Who is going to take the helm? Personally I think we could use a leader who does what he says. But the point of today’s post is to pass on something that has helped me when I’m losing sleep and not eating right – when I’m concerned about the political battlefield. I will also say that politics is NOT part of my daily diet. However, with election right around the corner, it’s all over the news and there are several versions available. It can be mind-boggling … and upsetting.

I come from a military background, married a military guy and actually did a short stint myself. I love America and all she stands for. Is it any wonder my favorite patriotic song is God Bless the USA? It always puts me in a thankful frame of mind.

Food Creates Health … or Sickness: Would you like ‘chemicals’ with that?

Have you heard about California Proposition 37 will be on the CA voter ballet November 6, 2012? Do you know it is about food labeling? I’ve written previously about companies that are for or against this. What about you? Wouldn’t you like to know what’s actually in the food you are eating and feeding your family?

Joseph Mercola is one of the main financial supporters of the initiative. He is an osteopath who lives in suburban Chicago. According to Mercola, “Your health care, your food supply, everything you need to live a healthy life is now being taken away and controlled by a massive industrial complex and corrupt government.”

12 Guidelines to Help Address Behavior Issues Without Drugs

This subject is very close to my heart as I believe the pharmaceutical industry (as well as the food industry) is abusing us – especially our kids. I also think they are abusing doctors with their aggressive and unethical marketing. Many of the drugs have not gone through significant testing.

A healthy young child will be full of energy and they will ask tons of questions – seemingly nonstop. It’s a new world for them – an amazing world and one I think we’ve lost sight of as adults. Kids are also gifted and learn in many different ways. Schools are trying to put them into boxes and so many have cut out the creative classes like art and music where many kids used to find release for their genius. Have you noticed in many schools there is no recess? These kids have an awful time in school. What happens with young teens who are going through hormonal changes? They become like carbonated drinks that get shaken. What happens when you take the lid off?

The first answer is NOT drugs! Take a look and try some of the following suggestions:

1. Severely limit or eliminate fructose from your child’s diet as sugar/fructose has been linked to mental health problems such as depression and schizophrenia.

2. Avoid giving your child ANY processed foods, especially those containing artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives. This includes lunch meats and hot dogs, which are common food staples in many households.

3. Replace soft drinks, fruit juices, and pasteurized milk with pure water. This is HUGE since high fructose corn syrup is a primary source of calories in children.

4. Make sure your child is getting large regular doses of healthy bacteria, either with high quality fermented organic foods and/or high quality probiotic supplements.

5. Give your child plenty of high-quality, animal-based omega-3 fats like krill oil. Also, make sure to balance your child’s intake of omega-3 and omega-6 fats, by simultaneously limiting their intake of vegetable oils.

6. Include as many whole organic foods as possible in your child’s diet, both to reduce chemical exposure and increase nutrient content of each meal.

7. Also reduce or eliminate grains from your child’s diet. Yes, even healthy organic whole grains can cause problems as they too break down into sugars.

Additionally, whole wheat in particular contains high amounts of wheat germ agglutinin (WGA), which can have adverse effects on mental health due to its neurotoxic actions. Wheat also inhibits production of serotonin, the largest concentration of which can, again, be found in your intestines, not your brain. Try eliminating them first for 1-2 weeks and see if you don’t notice a radical and amazing improvement in your child’s behavior.

8. Avoid artificial sweeteners of all kinds.

9. Make sure your child gets plenty of exercise and outdoor playtime.

10. Get them out into the sun to help maintain optimal vitamin D levels. Scientists are now beginning to realize vitamin D is involved in maintaining the health of your brain, as they’ve recently discovered vitamin D receptors in the brain, spinal cord, and central nervous system. There’s even evidence indicating vitamin D improves your brain’s detoxification process. For children and pregnant women, getting enough vitamin D is especially crucial, as it may play a major role in protecting infants from autism.

11. Give your child a way to address his or her emotions. Even children can benefit from the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), which you or an EFT practitioner can teach them to use.

12. Prevent exposure to toxic metals and chemicals by replacing personal care products, detergents and household cleaners with all natural varieties. Metals like aluminum, cadmium, lead and mercury are commonly found in thousands of different food products, household products, personal products and untold numbers of industrial products and chemicals. The presence of toxic metals in your child’s body is highly significant for they are capable of causing serious health problems by interfering with normal biological functioning. The health effects range from minor physical ailments to chronic diseases, and altered mood and behavior.

What is Really in the Vitamins You May Be Buying?

You are doing a great thing for yourself and your family buying vitamins. We need them to supplement the nutrition we are not getting from today’s foods. Here are my questions?

  • Do you understand the difference between synthetic, natural and whole-food?
  • Do you know how they are processed?
  • Do you read the labels and know what the ‘other ingredients’ are?

“Other ingredients” usually means animal parts and cancer causing artificial sweeteners. They include: talc, dyes, sodium benzoate, methylcellulose, carnauba wax, silicon and/or titanium dioxide. In all of these cases, what you don’t know WILL hurt you!

Your body treats synthetic vitamins like toxins. I urge you to do some research and learn about the different ingredients, the processes used and who makes them.
